Introduction of Myself

 Introduction of Myself

My name is Robert Finegan, and I'm a 24-year-old student attending TU Dublin Blanchardstown studying Creative Digital Media. Before looking at TU Dublin Blanchardstown, I have attended three PLC courses: Crumlin College, Ballyfermot of Further Education, and Roslyn Park College. The modules in those colleges range from learning Graphic Design, Web Design, Black and White Photography and Drawing. I like graphic design, and I like using the programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign to create, edit photos, make logos, create brochures and experiment with the many fonts that come with the Adobe Suite. I have also done work experience in a print shop called Millbrook Press located in Naas, which creates posters, business cards, etc.

I have developed an interest in photography in my second PLC course. Working with a film camera and later developing the film by myself in the darkroom was a perfect experience. I want to get into digital photography, seeing as I have access to the adobe suite and use Adobe Lightroom to edit photos for digital photography. I want to continue photography in the future as it opens up another pathway in the digital media world.

I am looking forward to learning how to use a digital camera instead of an old black-and-white film camera.

During my third PLC course at Roslyn Park College, I was given some advice by one of the teachers who told me I should look at Blanchardstown Creative Digital Media which offers Graphic Design, Web design and Digital Photography. I've done a bit of web design before back in Crumlin college using Adobe Dreamweaver. However, it has been a while since I've done that, but I would be interested in picking it up again, furthering my skills in web design as it would help me develop my website to show off my creative works.

What I hope to get out of this 4-year course is to be trained in graphic design and other creative media to develop advanced skills to work in the field and create visual work. I hope to get a job as a Graphic designer and produce logos, posters and other graphics for clients.
