Production Process

Image
Source For this week ill be reviewing some videos on the digital media production process, which will help me with my upcoming future projects like a group project. I’m told there are different stages in digital media production, so ill be looking at some videos talking about it.  Design Thinking What design thinking means is like having a set of tools to help you solve problems creatively. Many processes focus on problem-solving however for design thinking focuses on the human side of problem-solving. It's like when a company or a project team is trying to design something new, and they are stuck at it they can use design thinking you would need to understand what we are creating and who we are preparing for, to understand this method you or a company must understand the five stages that design thinking must go through. The stages are: Empathise, which to sum it all up is to understand the consumer that you are trying to design for asking consumers doing interviews with them askin...

Media Literacy

Media Literacy Source For week four, I will share my thoughts on the three articles I had to read for this week.  The first reading that I have started this week was called Code check, a digital news report, and from what I read of it, its primary purpose is to help people make informed decisions when they come across online news that could be misleading or not true. Companies would often face issues in the digital world, so they had to address their commitments to develop and implement ways of trustworthiness to prioritise relevant authentic and authoritative information in news feeds and ways to block and report fake news and giving ways for consumers to control and personalise the use of their data.  For me, I had expected this in the first place. I'm not surprised by it at all. Just I've reasonably known that digital social media sites would help and improve the user's experience and give them control on how they would be able to present themselves in the digital world....

Digital Media

Digital Media  Digital Media For me, I think digital media means that it is easier to connect with friends, family and business platforms. What I mean by that is seeing that digital media comes with social media. You can create a page for yourself showing your work as a photographer or artist, leading your work to get some attention. Other people may develop their social media pages to connect with their friends and text them online and attend social gatherings. It is also an excellent way to meet new people online who share the same interests, beliefs and values the same as you. Before digital media, people would have to rely on traditional media, consisting of television, radio and newspapers. That was mainly what you could do with traditional media. It was a one-way system. But now, ever since technology has advanced over the years, you can access the internet on any device like a phone which you can gain access to anything on the web while on the go. Computers have gotten...

Active Reading

Introduction   My name is Robert Finegan, and I’m a student currently that I have been reading a paper called a Journal of Reading by Ernest Balajthy, which at the time it was published by the International Literacy Association and Wiley in February 1984. It would have been challenging back then, especially for critical reading, because some information could be outdated. You would only have access to the library, where is today you would now have access to the internet. The paper is mainly aimed at students explaining how they can improve their reading and writing abilities. For questioning using learning, activity is not as valuable as the author would think as I saw under the bold subheading paragraph it would probably be better if the student would act as a teacher and have a discussion of the reading selection the other way would be a competition a group competition divided into two or more groups and have them answer the other group's questions on a piece, if a student cannot...

Study skills

My thoughts on the three videos i have watched.  My name is Robert Finegan, and I am giving my thoughts on the three videos that I have watched for week 3. The first video was about how to study by a YouTube channel named Mike and Matty. The video is by mike, who explains that he is a doctor in California and has a few easy ways to study using some of the methods that he uses still today. Mike breaks these methods down into three ways such as quizzing yourself, spacing and mixing.  Source He gives out perfect examples of the three strategies. For quizzing, he says it's testing yourself and making sure to practice every day. For instance, to become a good musician, you would need to practice playing an instrument same thing applies to sports. He says the best way to study is to have a routine going for yourself, not to learn for 5 hours or more but to break the hours down throughout the week. Mixing means mixing up your studies by not studying one at a time by mixing it up with...

Introduction of Myself

Introduction of Myself   My name is Robert Finegan, and I'm a 24-year-old student attending TU Dublin Blanchardstown studying Creative Digital Media. Before looking at TU Dublin Blanchardstown, I have attended three PLC courses: Crumlin College, Ballyfermot of Further Education, and Roslyn Park College. The modules in those colleges range from learning Graphic Design, Web Design, Black and White Photography and Drawing. I like graphic design, and I like using the programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign to create, edit photos, make logos, create brochures and experiment with the many fonts that come with the Adobe Suite. I have also done work experience in a print shop called Millbrook Press located in Naas, which creates posters, business cards, etc.  I have developed an interest in photography in my second PLC course. Working with a film camera and later developing the film by myself in the darkroom was a perfect experience. I want to get ...
